Physical Description: The average Gridran is laboratory
raised and educated. Each member of the culture has implants for
specific job duties. These implants are determined shortly after
birth is effected in the research lab. Education during the growth
years is accomplished via computer link to the young cyborg. The
normal male gridran crewman stands just under 1.5 meters and weighs
approximately 65 kilograms. The Spurs, or warriors, usually stand
over 2 meters and weigh in at 94 to 105 kilograms. Arms and legs
as well as several organs are replaced at the age of adulthood
unless prompted earlier by radiation sickness. A light synthetic
armor is utilized as a skin type covering. This covering extends
over the entire body in the case of the Spurs making them extremely
durable. Spurs are normally armed with a built in 15 mm repeating
plasma generator, laser enhanced vision and built in tactical
display chips.
History: It is believed the Gridran evolved from a stranded
BW deep space research ship sometime during the 1st Dominium.
Unable to leave orbit and faced with existing in an extremely
hostile environment, they were forced to adapt mechanical means
to replace body parts adversely affected by the heat and high
levels of radiation. After a short heyday in Dark Well Space,
the Gridran allegiance collapsed and individual GR personnel were
absorbed by other allegiances who took control of their homeworld
and assets.
Society: None. Where found, the Gridran have adopted the
society of other allegiances.
